Interior Basement Waterproofing

Interior basement waterproofing refers to a variety of techniques used to prevent water from entering a basement from the inside of the structure.

Interior basement waterproofing is rather a water management technique, as opposed to waterproofing, as water still makes it to your basement, but is managed with a variety of tools & techniques pre-built in your basement - like waterproof membranes, drainage system, sump pump installation and more.

This can include installing drainage systems, sealing cracks and joints, and applying waterproof coatings to the walls and floors of the basement.
 

One common method of interior basement waterproofing is installing a perimeter drainage system, which involves digging a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement and installing a drainage pipe that collects and directs water to a sump pump. The sump pump then pumps the water out and away from the foundation.
 

Basement wall & floor crack repairs are then delivered to seal cracks and joints in the walls and floor of the basement to prevent water from seeping through. This can be done using a variety of materials, such as epoxy injections or polyurethane sealants.
 

A waterproof coating is then applied. This can include using a paint-on waterproofing membrane, a cementitious coating, or a plastic sheeting system.
